Formerly known as The Fountain Backpackers, U Boutique on Haven – Nelson is the latest addition to the U Hotel Group portfolio. U Boutique on Haven – Nelson offers you the privacy you require with 9 rooms all with ensuite bathrooms. Our rooms are suitable for short term or long-term stays as we have a communal kitchen, laundry, dining, lounge, workspaces and picnic/outdoor living areas.  So, we call this a Sleepery as it’s not a Hotel or Motel, but a Historic Villa built-in 1890 turned into something different right in the heart of Nelson!

We are big on security and privacy and have listened to U and your needs when it comes to contactless check-in and check-out, which has resulted in automated service offerings. No reception means no need for additional staff, but still offering 24/7 assistance via our messaging service and contact number along with external, entrance way and hallway security cameras to ensure peace of mind throughout your stay.

Everything on your doorstep! U Boutique on Haven – Nelson is located on 89 Haven Road which is next to Big Save Furniture and diagonally opposite the Warehouse and Countdown Supermarkets.  We are a short 5-minute stroll away from the city centre and a short 5-minute drive to the Tahunanui Beaches and the Airport.  Supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, bars, banks and retail are just a 5-minute walk away from the property and still just only a few minutes away from the best beaches if you need to get into away to relax.

Arnu was most accomodating and kind - I had to change my booking due to a funeral, and she went out of her way to help me. The facilities were also excellent.

We enjoyed our stay. It was clean and well equipped, we enjoyed using the welcoming communal facilities (kitchen, laundry, breakfast area, outdoor courtyard). The ability to socialise with other guests is uncommon for a motel and much appreciated after the days of covid.

            There is transportation available in the form of taxis and shuttles to and from the property which can be booked in advance or on the day by the guest. The U Studios Masterton is a 5-minute drive from the Masterton Airport and a 90-minute drive from Wellington Airport.
            What are U Studios Masterton’s green policies?
            U Studios Masterton is very conscious of waste and recycles cardboard, glass and plastic materials wherever possible. We provide towel rails in the rooms to encourage guests to reuse towels and keep them dry. We happily exchange towels that are left on the bathroom floor.             Our hotels are open 24 hours and due to changes in operations made due to COVID-19 we have automated our after-hours check-in with codes for entry, key retrieval and information in rooms to ensure a comfortable stay.

            Reception Services – We are manned from 9am to 5pm, 7 days a week and we are available 24 hours by contacting the hotel telephone number should you require anything at all.  As we are based either within the property or in close proximity we will attend to any request immediately for any after-hours queries.
