Formerly known as The Fountain Backpackers, U Boutique on Haven – Nelson is the latest addition to the U Hotel Group portfolio. U Boutique on Haven – Nelson offers you the privacy you require with 9 rooms all with ensuite bathrooms. Our rooms are suitable for short term or long-term stays as we have a communal kitchen, laundry, dining, lounge, workspaces and picnic/outdoor living areas. So, we call this a Sleepery as it’s not a Hotel or Motel, but a Historic Villa built-in 1890 turned into something different right in the heart of Nelson!
We are big on security and privacy and have listened to U and your needs when it comes to contactless check-in and check-out, which has resulted in automated service offerings. No reception means no need for additional staff, but still offering 24/7 assistance via our messaging service and contact number along with external, entrance way and hallway security cameras to ensure peace of mind throughout your stay.
Everything on your doorstep! U Boutique on Haven – Nelson is located on 89 Haven Road which is next to Big Save Furniture and diagonally opposite the Warehouse and Countdown Supermarkets. We are a short 5-minute stroll away from the city centre and a short 5-minute drive to the Tahunanui Beaches and the Airport. Supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, bars, banks and retail are just a 5-minute walk away from the property and still just only a few minutes away from the best beaches if you need to get into away to relax.

Whilst we do not have a reception desk onsite our team is available between 9am and 3pm everyday via phone or email. After 3pm we will be available by phone.
Check In/Check Out
Check in from 2pm and Check Out at 10am. We are happy to offer a late check out if the room is available.
Restaurant, Bar & Breakfast Room
We do not have a restaurant but do have a kitchen and dining area that you can utilise. We also provide dishwashing soaps and material and we kindly ask that you clean up after as a courtesy to other guests.
Parking
We are located close to the city and within easy walking distance so U do not need to bring the car but if you have to then no worries, we have 4 on-site car-parks at the property that can be utilized on a first come first served basis. Off Street Carparks are available on Haven Road right outside the Villa and we will be happy to assist with queries.

Due to the recent severe weather in the region we have experienced a slip at the rear part of the property. Whilst this has not damaged the internal structures of the building we will keep our Sleepery closed until we are 100% sure that the building has been thoroughly assessed by the relevant specialists and authorities. We’d like to thank our staff and support teams for the work being done to get us going again and you, our guests, for your understanding and support during this time.
